Though this film has been around for quite some time, very few people around me has actually watched it. But those who watched it gave it high ratings. And I am one of them.

Having watched Kelvin Tong’s previous films, I would really say he is getting better and better in his craft. As in The Maid and Rule No #1, he masterfully manipulates both suspense and gore, to keep us gripping at the edges of our seats. But this time the story isn’t about the supernatural. Hold and behold as he brings horror to a whole new level with this psychological drama thriller.

Who says ghosts are the most frightening? Sometimes human nature can be just as scary or even worst.

Throughout the film, I was crinching and cheering for the main lead, as he goes to all means to gather the full ransom amount. A spoiler here (though if you watch the trailer, you will probably know this already): Christopher Lee’s character, taxi-driver and father of the mistakenly kidnapped son, would even sell his kidney to save his son. Talk about the nobility of the human spirit.

And though you can know most of the story just by watching the trailer, I reassure you it’s definitely worth to watch the entire film in the cinemas. The buildup and suspense is truly one of its kind.

It’s definitely Christopher Lee at his best. And if there’s a Singapore Golden Horse Award for Best Actor, he will probably get it. And maybe when Fayne Wong and he have children, this is what he will do to protect his child.

The reigning Australian Open champion suffered just his second loss to Berdych in 10 career meetings.

LONDON: Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas fears he may not play again this season after suffering a serious leg injury in Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League quarter-final draw against Barcelona.

Fabregas, already struggling with a knee problem, believes he may have sustained the injury either when he was fouled by Carles Puyol to win the penalty that he converted to cap Arsenal’s impressive fightback or when he retrieved the ball from the back of the net after the spot-kick.

New blast as Russia buries dead, Islamists claim bombings

MOSCOW: A new explosion shook Russia Thursday as the country held funerals for dozens killed in the Moscow metro suicide bombings claimed by an Islamist group that warned of further strikes.

Funerals were to be held at nine cemeteries in Moscow and also in the southern city of Krasnodar as Russia mourned the 39 victims killed when two female suicide bombers blew themselves up on the Moscow metro on Monday, state television said.

NTU received a new batch of 98 participants for the Master of Science in Managerial Economics (MME) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme at the official opening of the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA). SINGAPORE: Electricity will cost more for the upcoming quarter, starting April. It will be the fourth consecutive quarter of increase.

SP Services said that is because of a continued increase in fuel oil prices. The average fuel oil price over the last three months has increased from S$99.38 to S$102.95 per barrel.
