Yoga by the Water @ World Water Day 2008

Yoga By The Water made me got out of bed early this morning. I had to check out what’s going on over at Upper Pierce Reservoir, since our very own NTU’s WKWSCI students were heavily involved in this exciting event.

It was a great start for me, to get there on a private bus (okay, I was late and so the shuttle bus was empty).

The event was FANtastic! There were many from all ages and walks of life, having fun throughout the 2-hour event. Even the guest-of-honour, Dr. Amy Khor was game enough for some yoga by the reservoir! The yoga instructors were also proficient and added to the lively atmosphere with their enthusiasm.

There were also games and a segment to recognize the contributions of five new Friends of Water.

I was soaking in the atmosphere of the event, which took about 5 weeks of planning according to Alexa, one of the student organizers. Yoga by the water, with clean, fresh air, warm sun, beautiful backdrop – definitely one of the better ways to spend your mornings. It’s obvious the tremendous amount of effort put in by our SCI mates!

I left the reservoir feeling good. What a great start to my Saturday.

It’d be great to have more activities at reservoirs. Maybe Womad 2010 can be held at one, instead of Fort Canning year in, year out. If that happens, you read it here first on Radio Fusion!
